On my journey of fitness and being healthy, I am striving
have a more “clean” diet. Now what does
that mean? I don’t know the exact definition, but to me it means eating less
processed food and more fresh meats, fruits, and veggies. I tend to be hungry every few hours, so I eat
5-6 small meals a day instead of 3 large meals.
And I NEVER skip breakfast! I do have an occasional alcoholic drink
every now and then, but I limit it to 1-2 glasses of wine per week and 2 drinks
on a night out.
Here is what I ate today!
Breakfast: Breakfast quinoa (I put blueberries in mine), and a banana with a teaspoon of peanut butter
Snack: ½ cup of low fat cottage cheese with 2 sliced
strawberries
Lunch: Chicken stirfry (chicken, stirfry veggies, brown
rice, low sodium soy sauce)
Dinner: Black bean quesadilla (1/4 cup of each: black beans, shredded
chicken, salsa, shredded cheese. toast in a low carb tortilla)
I tend to be a “snacker,” so I had a small baggie of pistachios
at my desk today. I also love drinking
water, I probably consumed 2-3 500mL bottles at the office.
Usually I limit my afternoon snack to just 1 item (just
the yogurt or just the oat ball) however I knew I was working out with my
trainer this evening. I ate the yogurt earlier
than my normal snack, then the oat ball about 45 minutes before my workout with
my energy drink (Cellucor C4, pink lemonade). More on my trainer and workouts soon!
