January Budget

1 & 2 - Target shoes. I can't find the links online (probably because they're sold out now) but the leopard print heels were $14.98 and the booties were $17.48. YAY for 50% off shoes!

3 & 4 - Old Navy - Seamless V-Neck Tanks - I bought these when Old Navy was having a sale on active wear, so they were $10 each. $20

5 - Old Navy - Compression Capris - I'm digging these compression capris! I have them in black and grey. They are moisture wicking so they don't show sweat like my cotton ones did. $15

6 - Forever 21 - Peacock's Feathers Nail Polish - I needed one more small item to get free shipping, and this polish color caught my eye. Its grey with pink and blue glitter flakes. I have no idea how the quality is, but I'm so excited for it to arrive! $2.80

7. Forever 21 - Striped Bodycon Skirt - I think this skirt can go with A LOT! I'm trying to branch out, so this should be a fun addition to the closet. $7.80

8. Forever 21 - Gingham Shirt - This is a classic piece that everyone should have. I debated between the black and the navy, but ended up going with navy. If I love it, the black might be next! $19.80

9. Forever 21 - Striped Cardigan - Forever 21 has a 30% off select sweaters and this one caught my eye! I'm really hoping its long enough to wear with leggings to cover my booty, but also cute enough to wear with a pencil skirt to work. $8.75

10. Not pictured - a few pairs of undies and socks from Target (because this girl totally forgot to pack them this week!) $13

With rounding up, I spent $122 in January! I'm thinking around $200 should be a fair monthly budget for myself. Even though I came in under my new budget, I did spend around $60 on my sister's birthday gifts. So, that puts me around $200.

I have also started transferring $25 into a savings account each month. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the money...maybe treat myself to a fabulous bag?! ;-)

What is your monthly clothing/accessory budget? Do you put money aside for something special?

  1. My friend just got the same Forever 21 skirt and is wondering how to style it. What are you going to wear yours with?

I definitely put money aside for "special" things. I also keep a list for my birthday and Christmas :-)

  2. Target has the best shoes- right!? My problem is, their heels are so uncomfortable. Maybe my feet just suck. Yes, that's probably what it is :P

  12. GOOD QUESTION! I'm not sure how I'll wear it...maybe with my polka dot sweater? Or my bright pink blazer?

  15. I set my budget at $200 for January and spent $160! So I was happy with the result and am going to put the rest into savings. Although, I was horrible with dining out/going out budget this month because of birthday stuff. I LOVE those glitter booties you got and the striped skirt! I wear my striped mini skirt all the time, honestly it goes with everything!

  19. Love the striped skirt! I don't have a monthly clothing/accessory budget per se but do try to keep my shopping purchases within an annual budget that's a certain percentage of net income. I also have a separate savings accounts for a bag and another for travel :)
