Library Card

Call me a nerd, but I love reading. Getting into a really good book is like being transported to another world. I can remember being at my grandparent's house in the summer and going to the library and borrowing "Mr. Popper's Penguins." I wanted to read it because I was absolutely obsessed with penguins. I loved being in Popper's world and laughing at the silly antics of the little tuxedoed birds.

If you've seen the "Sex and the City" movie, I love the part where Carrie smells the book of poems. There is nothing like the smell of a library book.  With all the technology out these days, libraries seem to be a thing of the past. But why pay $10 for an e-book when you can go borrow one for free? I borrowed 4 books for my trip to Japan. I ended up bringing 3 of the books with me. I read "Last Night at Chateau Marmont" and "No Place Like Home: A Memoir of 39 Apartments." I wasn't sure that I would like Chateau, but I ended up getting very into it. No Place Like Home wasn't my favorite book, but I finished it.

When I returned from my trip, I received an email saying that a book I had been waiting on had arrived. I picked it up before I left for OKC, and I finished it in about 3 days. "Guilty Wives" was great! I could not put it down. The chapters were short, and the perspective changed often, but it wasn't confusing.

I have 2 more library books in my possession. I also have "50 Shades of Grey" and the 2 follow-up books on my iPad to read. All of the hype has intrigued me, and a friend emailed the e-pubs to me, which was nice.

Have you read any good books lately?!
