No. 2 pencil skirt addict

Up until about 2 months ago, I had never purchased anything at J. Crew. But I started seeing a lot of great pieces from fashion bloggers that I fell in love with, and the ongoing trend was that they were from J. Crew. So, I ventured into the store in search of the No. 2 pencil skirt in warm jade (which I first viewed on either Sequins and Stilettos or Lilly's Style.) Lucky me, the store had the skirt, on sale, AND sale items were an additional 30% off! I bought a skirt that was originally $110, for only $42, can we say bargin shopper?! ;-)

I told myself I was going to be on a shopping ban in June because I purchase quite a few items in May, including my new laptop, which was a BIG purchase. However, I can't really say no to shopping when someone asks me to go. Which means, this girl broke her promise.

But, in my defense, I didn't do too badly. I purchased a tank top and (finally) a chambray shirt from Old Navy (with a gift card, so those don't technically count!). Then we ventured to the mall, and I made the mistake of checking at J. Crew to see if the No. 2 pencil skirt was there in a beautiful shade of purple that I saw when I purchased my green one.

And lucky me, the royal violet was there, on sale ($39.99), in my size, works for me!  But of course, something else caught my eye...No. 2 in neon pink! How can you say no to a sexy skirt in hot pink? Especially for $34.99!

I am SO excited about my new additions! I think my new chambray shirt will look great with both skirts. However, I'm a little disheartened because the shirt is on sale on the Old Navy website, but not in the store. So I'm waiting to remove the tags incase I see it on sales at the store or get a coupon via email. *Crossing my fingers* I'm all about fashion, but I'm even more about a bargin!!

ALSO, I just look at White House Black Market and the sexy jumpsuit I had my eye on a while ago is now on sale! What is a girl to do? Break the shopping ban, again??

I don't "need" it, but I do have a bachelorette party in August that we are all wearing "black dresses" and  I don't really have a sexy black dress.  Can I justify it?! What do you think??

  1. I couldn't pass up the sales at J.Crew either. Just when I say "I'm done shopping" new sales pop-up. After I purchased the Warm Jade one I bought 3 more yesterday. I couldn't help it, amazing sales.

The jumpsuit is fab but if it was me, I would "invest" in a little back dress, they are timeless.

  2. Curses on J. Crew! They are so addicting!!

I have 2-3 LBDs, but none of them feel cute/sexy enough for a bachelorette bash. They are more work or wedding appropriate. Maybe I will keep one eye on the jumpsuit and one eye out for a better LBD.

    1. Lots of LBD's are just that, work or weeding appropriate. A girl needs to feel sexy, especially for a such a fun occasion. You just might have to treat yourself to the jumpsuit (and we all need to treat ourselves ;)
