Training Tuesday - TRX

Sometimes you get into a "fitness rut" where you are doing the same workout or routine every day. Don't get me wrong, I love my workouts! But sometimes its nice to mix it up a bit. That's what i did recently and I forgot how much fun TRX can be!


TRX was designed by Navy Seals and its basically using your bodyweight and the TRX straps to develop strength, balance, flexibility, and core stability.  Basically, its hard core! You can decide on the level of difficulty, and part of that is based on the instructor. I prefer to go to classes rather than purchase the equipment and program, but thats my personal preference.

Anyway, one of the owners of my local gym also teaches a few TRX classes and she claims TRX helped change her life. She got into running hard core but had to wear custom orthotics in her shoes. After taking TRX, her body is more balanced so now she doesn't wear the shoe inserts and she is a better runner! Personally, I just like TRX because its a new challenge.
